Fortunately, these counter tops require very little maintenance and by following a few easy steps, your investment will continue looking great for many years to come.

As the old saying goes; an ounce of prevention is worth a pound a cure. This couldn’t be more true than with your new natural stone/quartz counter top. Here are a few tips to keep your counter looking great.

1. Always use a trivet or hot pad under pots and pans.
2. Always use a cutting board.
3. Clean up spills immediately.

Daily cleaning of your granite/quartz counter top couldn’t be easier. Just warm water and dish soap will take care of the majority of everyday clean up. For a convenient way to clean and protect, we recommend our Olympus 3-1 cleaner, polish, and protector for maximum daily protection.

Sealer is an important part of a natural stone counter top. Sealer works from the inside out protecting your natural stone from stains. The frequency your counter needs to be sealed varies depending on the make-up of your natural stone. Not all natural stones have the same composition so not all natural stone requires the same sealing frequency. A general rule of thumb is once a year but really, anytime your natural stone is taking on moisture, it’s time to reseal. A good test is to pour a few drops of water onto your stone, if the water beads up, you are protected. If the water is absorbed by the counter top, it’s time to reseal.
